NICU Support

Many people have expectations and visions of what welcoming their newborn will be like. You’ve made plans for your delivery, feeding, and bonding but then those plans are no longer in your hands.

Everything moves quickly, and you meet your baby not in the way you imagined, but in a medical environment filled with monitors, alarms, and unfamiliar language.

You might find yourself filled with fear, grief, confusion and suddenly, the most anticipated moment of your life feels like a whirlwind of uncertainty.

In these moments, you may feel powerless, overwhelmed, and unable to fully understand how you got here. You might be struggling to stay grounded, trying to process medical information while also trying to be present for your baby.

This is where I come in.

Whether you’re preparing for a NICU stay due to a high-risk pregnancy, currently in the hospital, or trying to adjust after discharge, I’m here to walk with you through it.

With several years of experience as a NICU therapist and personal experience as a NICU parent, I bring both clinical insight and deep empathy to our work together.

Given my clinical knowledge of being in the NICU for several years, I understand the world you’re in. You won’t need to explain what a “brady” is or what it's like to sit through rounds. I already know that experience, and I’m here to help you process it emotionally, so you can feel more grounded and supported as you care for your baby.

How can I help...

My goal is to help you slow down the racing thoughts and fears, give you tools to cope with the emotional weight of this journey, and offer clear, compassionate guidance to help you understand the medical world you’ve been thrust into. Together, we’ll work toward creating space for you to be emotionally present with your baby, to celebrate milestones, and to begin to heal.

No matter how long your baby was in the NICU, a few days or many months, your experience is significant, and your feelings are real. Many parents don’t have time to emotionally process what’s unfolding during their baby’s hospital stay. You're focused on survival, you might find yourself focused on asking questions, tracking progress, navigating decisions, and trying to stay strong. Then when you go home, the support system you had in the hospital is suddenly gone. That’s when the emotional weight often starts to hit, sometimes leaving you with anxiety, grief, exhaustion, and the lingering effects of trauma that weren’t fully acknowledged in the moment. Together, we make space for all the emotions that have been pushed aside in order to help you reconnect with yourself, your child, and each other.
