Men's Mental Health

We’re not just here to “talk about feelings”. I am here to help you solve problems, gain insight, and deal with your stressors with more confidence.

Sometimes the thing you’re missing is simply the chance to check in and talk about what’s been on your mind that week.

Many of the men I work with used to carry a quiet weight, feeling the pressure to hold everything together while having few places to talk about what’s really going on. More men are embracing therapy, to manage their thoughts and issues with intention and clarity. Our work together can be a place to unload the pressure, speak freely, and start showing up in your life the way you want to.

You don’t need to have a crisis to benefit from support.

What will we talk about?

  • Daily life

  • Relationships with partners and family

  • Communication skills to deal with conflict

  • Discovering what is important for you and share your needs with others

  • Fatherhood/ co-parenting

  • Divorce/breakups

  • Dating

  • Anxiety, stress, and anger

  • Executive functioning skills, learning to better organize and initiate tasks

  • Your career and thinking about your future

  • Feelings of disconnection or feeling the loss of the "old you"

  • Finance management and burdens

  • Intimacy

  • Health concerns

Staying on Track- Executive Functioning Skills
You might feel overwhelmed by everything on your plate and do not know where to start. The key isn’t doing more, it’s finding what works. Together, we’ll sort through the noise, figure out what’s getting in your way, and create a plan that helps you follow through. If you’re feeling stuck with planning, time management, prioritizing, or getting things done, therapy can help you build structure, set realistic goals, and move forward with less stress.

Relationships

I support men in navigating romantic relationships, talking through your thoughts surrounding issues and arguments. Together, we’ll work on strengthening communication skills so you can share your needs in a clear, constructive way and better understand your partner’s as well.

I also work with men going through breakups or divorce. Sometimes the end of a relationship or time spent on your own brings up questions about what you want moving forward. The end of a relationship can come unexpectedly, and life may look very different than you imagined. It can take time to adjust and figure out what moving forward looks like. Whether you’re interested in dating again or trying to get your footing, we’ll talk through what’s next for you.

Relationships with Family & Friends

It’s not just romantic relationships that can get complicated. Relationships with friends, family, and coworkers can bring up stress, frustrations, or patterns you’re tired of repeating. Maybe you haven’t really had the chance to talk about what’s happened in the past, and some of those experiences still affect how you handle things now. Sometimes old issues carry over, showing up in how you respond or what you expect from others.

You might also want to talk about what’s happening day-to-day to figure out how to deal with conflict, understand where others are coming from, and communicate your own perspective more clearly.

Stress & Anxiety

Stress and anxiety can show up in all sorts of ways. Many men come to talk about feeling on edge, overthinking situations, or getting stuck in “what if” and worst-case scenarios. We’ll look at what’s really going on beneath the surface, like what is driving the stress, how your thoughts are shaping the way you feel, and what patterns might be keeping you stuck. By talking through situations, we can figure out the core stressors, adjust unhelpful thinking, and explore ways to respond differently so things feel less overwhelming.

Fatherhood

Being a dad can bring some of the biggest rewards and some of the toughest challenges. Many men come in wanting to talk about the pressure to provide, protect, be involved, and to feel like they are doing a good job while juggling work, relationships, and life in general. You might be questioning how you’re doing as a parent and want to work through decisions or challenges.  We can figure out how to work with a partner or co-parent without adding tension.

Fatherhood can also make you think about how you grew up and who you were before kids. You might want to understand why you do certain things or find ways to reconnect with the "old you".

Life moves fast, and it’s easy to push your own thoughts and feelings aside while handling everything else.

This is your time to slow down, decompress and talk through what’s been on your mind, and get unstuck from the things that have been weighing on you so that you can feel more in control of your day-to-day life.
